Training Program for Thailand’s Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (ONACC)

GRIPS conducted a two-day training program for 35 senior officials of the Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (ONACC) in Thailand from June 10-11, 2025.

This was the first time the program had been held at the request of the ONACC. It was designed to help ONACC executives learn about Japan’s civil service system and anti-corruption measures, and to provide insights for future human resource development and policy formulation. ?

During the program, Vice President Professor Hirofumi Takada (Director of the Executive Development Center for Global Leadership) delivered lectures on Japan’s civil service system, human resource development, and public service disciplines, ethics and anti-corruption measures.?

In addition, the participants visited the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) on the first day and Secretariat of the National Public Service Ethics Board, National Personnel Authority (NPA) on the second day.

At these visits, they learned about the Japanese civil service system and ethics regulations, and how moral and ethics education in elementary and junior high schools helps cultivate ethical awareness in society. The participants showed a strong interest in Japan’s approach to moral education and anti-corruption systems, and engaged actively by asking many questions during the visits.?

Although the program was short, the participants demonstrated great enthusiasm and found the content highly relevant to their practical work. Some participants also expressed hope that such training programs would continue in collaboration with GRIPS in the future. Overall, the program was well received and proved to be a valuable learning opportunity. ?
