Energy Policy Webinar: Energy Security and Energy Transition in Japan
The Energy Institute at the University of Texas at Austin and GRIPS co-hosted a webinar on Japan’s energy policy on October 4 (JST), 2022 with the generous support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. The webinar, which was targeted mainly the experts of the Energy Institutes, was moderated by Dr. Carey King, Assistant Director of the Energy Institute.
GRIPS Prof. Hisanori Nei gave a presentation entitled, “Energy Security and Energy Transition in Japan” in which he discussed Japan’s roadmap to a carbon-free society, nuclear energy policy, expansion of renewable energy and CCS (carbon capture and storage) policy.
During the discussion session, participants raised questions such as the energy resilience and geothermal power generation in Japan.
