Building High Performance Organization Culture:Training Program with PIPPA, USM ,Malaysia
GRIPS had a three day training program from November 6 to 8, 2018 in response to the request from the Centre for Innovation and Productivity in Public Administration (PIPPA), Universiti Sains Malaysia. 11 participants selected in Malaysia have attended the program with the theme “Building High Performance Organization Culture”.
In the program, participants attended lectures on organizational cultures of central & local government and private sector. Lectures were given by Prof. Masahiro Horie (GRIPS Emeritus Professor and Director of the Executive Development Center for Global Leadership) and Prof. Nishihara (Assistant Professor of Rikkyo University).
Participants also had an opportunity to visit the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communication (MIC). Participants learnt “Efforts for Creating Innovative Workplace in Japan”implemented in the Ministry. MIC officials also showed their traditional and newly designed office, so called “Free Address” office. Participants were impressed by its continuous efforts to build higher performance organization culture in terms of procedures and office environment.

On the final day of the training program, participants had long hours of discussion with Prof. Horie on measures to improve organization performance. At the closing ceremony, every participant received a certificate of completion.
