GRIPS conducted a Training Program on good governance and anti corruption at the request of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) between July 11 and July 15, 2016. The Secretary, the additional Secretary of Cabinet Division of Bangladesh Government, and other executive members related to Anti Corruption Commission of Bangladesh participated in the program.

During the program, the participants had a chance to hear lectures on the Japanese government system, which were given by Senior Professor and Director of the Executive Development Center for Global Leadership Masahiro Horie. They had a briefing on Administrative Inspection, Policy Evaluation, Administrative Counseling, Administrative Complaint Review Act, and Information Disclosure Laws from the Directors of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC).

And they also visited the National Personnel Authorities to have a briefing on the National Public Service Ethics Board.

Mr. Mohammad Shafiul Alam, Cabinet Secretary Government of Bangladesh had a great concern for this program and joined a part of it; visiting MIC and the National Personnel Authorities with the delegation.

He also had a speech titled “National Integrity Strategy-NIS and Good Governance” for the participants of the training program, the GRIPS students from Bangladesh, and many concerned of this program at GRIPS.

On the final day, Senior Professor Horie presided over a summary session. The Bangladesh deligation looked back the good training program and raised motivation for the continued training in Bangladesh.
