An interview of Professor Miyuki Katai about her efforts in sex-/gender-specific medicine and research and the development of a healthcare app for women (WaiSE) was published in KIZUNA, the official online magazine published by the public relations office of the Government of Japan.

KIZUNA is an international magazine that introduces aspects of Japan such as policies, diplomacy, cutting-edge technology and culture with the aim of strengthening ties between Japan and the rest of the world.

This article, published to coincide with International Women's Day and Women's Health Week (Japan), reports an interview of Professor Katai in the WaiSE research and development project based on sex-/gender-specific medicine, with the aim of eliminating the gender gap in Japanese healthcare.

2025 is a milestone year for gender equality: it's the 50th anniversary of International Women's Day and the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration, so the Japanese government's international publication of this introduction to Professor Katai's initiatives at this significant time is a wonderful commemoration of this important work.
