Associate Professor Yusuke Takagi receives Incentive Award among 20th Nakasone Yasuhiro Awards
The Nakasone Peace Institute announced the recipients of the 20th Nakasone Yasuhiro Award on October 18, 2024. GRIPS Associate Professor Yusuke Takagi received an Incentive Award.
The Nakasone Yasuhiro Award was established in 2004 to recognize young people who are actively and boldly working on global issues such as creating a new international order, building regional economic cooperation systems, overcoming hunger and poverty, responding to pandemics and severe disasters, and environmental and energy issues. By encouraging new activity, the award is meant to contribute to the realization of a truly peaceful and prosperous international society.
Associate Professor Takagi’s specialty is Area Studies (Southeast Asia), Political Science. The reasons for his being selected were given as follows: “As a researcher specializing in the Southeast Asia region, Dr. Takagi has conducted comparative research on the history of development and nation-building in Southeast Asian countries, based on modern Philippine history. In addition, he has widely disseminated his research results in Japan and internationally through websites and English-language journals, making significant contributions.”
