Release : “Atlas of SDGs” English virsion in database “The World and Japan”
”Atlas of SDGs” English virsion is released in addition to the Japanese version in the “The World and Japan” database headed by GRIPS President Akihiko Tanaka.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. It consists of a comprehensive set of 17 goals that are common to all countries around the world and cover so many of the challenges facing humanity “SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals = Sustainable Development Goals)”It was adopted by the UN General Assembly in September 2015, and the 17 Goals are all interconnected, and in order to leave no one behind, it is important that we achieve them all by 2030.
For each of these 17 goals, this new collection of maps visualizes several related indicators on a world map so that an overview of the current state of the world can be seen at a glance.
e.g. 1) goal 5 “Gender Equality “ e.g. 2) goal 16 “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions “
It is necessary to grasp the situation of the hole world in order to understand how serious the situation of each country in the world against the 17 goals is, and how likely they are to achieve the goal.
Therefore, all 130 related data are visualized by two types, a choropleth map (painting map) and a bubble map for each of 17 goals. This makes it possible to visually grasp the situation of the whole world, which is difficult to grasp only with numerical data.
