On January 17, 2008, GRIPS concluded an official partnership agreement with the National Institute of Science and Technology Policy (NISTEP).

The purpose of this agreement is to produce talented graduates trained with advanced specializations in the field of science and technology policy, and to contribute to the development of science and technology policy.

NISTEP has established a satellite office at GRIPS to strengthen cooperation.
