At GRIPS Forum on July 1, 2024, Mr. Enoch Wu, Founder of Forward Alliance gave a lecture titled “Promoting Taiwanese Solidarity and Resilience through Policy Advocacy and Civil Participation.”

Abstract:

Enoch Wu will share Forward Alliance’s work to promote civic engagement and build national solidarity. He will discuss Forward Alliance’s flagship Forward Volunteers program, which provides crisis response training, empowering citizens to play an active role in serving their communities. Mr. Wu will share how Forward Alliance is working to facilitate public debate on ways to enhance democratic resilience through electoral reform.

Speakers’ Profile:

Enoch Wu is the founder of Forward Alliance, a Taiwanese NGO focused on promoting national solidarity. Mr. Wu served on Taiwan’s National Security Council from 2017 to 2019 where his portfolio included critical infrastructure protection. Prior to that, Mr. Wu worked in the Premier’s Office where he was tasked to review the government’s security clearance program. Before entering public service, Mr. Wu spent a decade in the financial industry. Mr. Wu graduated from Yale University. He is a reserve in the Taiwanese Special Forces Command.
