Abstract:
Almost seven years have passed since the Great East Japan Earthquake and the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. The village of Kawauchi, which retains the appearance of Japan from days gone by, has been known since that day as a “disaster afflicted area”. This talk will consider the route that the village has taken as it strives to become the irreplaceable hometown for people that it once was.
