The 129th GRIPS Forum “Improving Education with Innovation and Evaluation”
At the 129th GRIPS Forum on October 24, 2016,?Dr. Susan M. Dynarski, Professor, University of Michigan gave a lecture titled “Three “Improving Education With Innovation and Evaluation”.
?

Abstract
There is a dangerous disconnect between academic research and practice in education. To improve education, both researchers and policymakers need to identify the questions that are important for improving policy and practice.
To this end, it is important to apply rigorous research methodologies that yield reliable answers. Equally important is that both researchers and policymakers have to communicate findings in a way that is comprehensible to practitioners and the public who need to act on them.
In this talk Dynarski described successes and failures to connect research to practice in education policy, and described a potential model to improve education research in Japan.?
