The 70th GRIPS Forum “Recent Development in Global Market”
- Abstract
The international financial situation has been undergoing a continuing chain of crises triggered by the Lehman Shock—from the Greek crisis to the financial crisis in Europe as a whole. Under these circumstances, what can be regarded as being the economic or financial risks currently being faced by the world? Concerns about inflation due to the easing of monetary conditions in developed countries are an issue for emerging countries in Asia especially, and countermeasures are required in some form. In addition to reviewing the risks currently faced by the world economy and finance as well as the nature of monetary and exchange policies in emerging Asian countries, this forum will also consider the role that Japan should play in Asia.
