The 42th GRIPS Forum“Structural changes in the global economy from the perspective of a SOGO-SHOSHA”
At the 42nd GRIPS Forum held on 20 December 2010, GRIPS invited Mr. Yorihiko Kojima, Chairman of the Board, Mitsubishi Corporation, to deliver a lecture entitled “Structural changes in the global economy from the perspective of a SOGO-SHOSHA.”
First, Mr. Kojima presented concrete data to explain the business of Mitsubishi Corporation and the current world economic situation. He said that there are three reasons for the global structuring changes: the rising prominence of emerging economies, player diversification and flattening of the information landscape. He also discussed the importance of free-trade agreements. At the Q&A session, there were many questions from the audience, including several about Mitsubishi Corporation’s business deployments, and he answered those questions respectfully.
