At the 28th GRIPS Forum held on 25 January, 2010, GRIPS invited Mr. NIWA Uichiro, Chairman of ITOCHU Corporation to deliver a lecture entitled andquot;The Road to Japanandrsquo;s Revitalizationandmdash;Decentralization Reform and the New Administrationandquot;. Mr. Niwa talked about how difficult it is to persuade bureaucrats to promote decentralization reform and also, from his own experience, what is necessary for Japanandrsquo;s revitalization. He concluded that it will take time to revitalize the country but it is possible. Education and the manufacture of high-quality products are essential for Japanandrsquo;s revitalization.
