The 1st FPCI-GRIPS Virtual Public Forum “Managing Stability in A Rough Sea”

GRIPS is collaborating with FPCI (Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia) in convening the FPCI-GRIPS Public Forum,
an open public webinar series where experts and policymakers can discuss the most pressing issues of international affairs and foreign policy with researchers and students across Southeast Asia and Japan.

The First FPCI-GRIPS public forum in 2025 FY titled “Managing Stability in A Rough Sea: Maritime Security, Blue Economy, Connectivity”
As the world’s busiest and one of the most strategic maritime crossroads, the Southeast Asia sea is often very vulnerable to instability.
Challenges remain on threats of piracy, illegal fishing, and geopolitical strategic tensions.
The session will discuss concrete ways to support coastal communities, empower small-scale fishers, and ensure sustainable marine future through the lens of Japan-ASEAN collaboration.
